Coaches' Corner
Yvette Giraudo is the amazing coach of our very own 2010 Girls "Blast". She grew up in Santa Rosa, took up soccer at an early age, and has been playing competitively as far back as she can remember. Her success on the field includes two national titles and four NCS championships with her high school varsity team. She parlayed that into a scholarship and four great years at William Jessup University. It was there where her leadership took center stage as she served as team Captain in her sophomore through senior campaigns. When asked why she likes to coach, Yvette responded "I thoroughly enjoyed all of the lessons I have learned on and off the field and I'm excited to bring that same passion I have for the game to the next level of young athletes."

49er United is proud and honored to be led by the NorCal Premier League. We are in line with their policies including, but not limited to, their Head Injury Protocol. This means that all of our coaches are required, before coaching, to pass the CDC's Heads Up Concussion Course, as well as Sideline Sports Doc's Youth Soccer Injury Recognition Course.

Check out this video by TOVO Founder, Todd Beane, son in law of Johann Cruyff. It is a good interview about his philosophy and methodology. One main point is soccer being about finding and exploiting space, not about kicking a ball. it's "a masterful dance of spacial relationships."
